Organic pizza in Bozeman, Montana
Bozeman is home to many great things like mountains, rivers, people, festival and FOOD. They have some of the most delicious restaurants in that area and some of the best health food stores (co-op). It’s a real treat for any health nut or health conscious traveler! I, as usual, googled “organic restaurants bozeman” and can you guess what I got.. NOTHING. This is why I am creating this resource for wellness travelers who try to keep healthy habits intact on the go!
Naturally, we hit the streets and started looking the old fashioned way… with our eyeballs. Maybe it was the over abundance of planter boxes outside, the massive red wall or the giant red tractor outside? Whatever it was, Red Tractor Pizza caught my eye. We went inside, saw the menu and immediately fell in love! The ambience is incredible and there is parking onsite. YES, free parking!
First, we started with a colorful beet salad with goat chèvre and balsamic. As a health foodie, I was majorly impressed with the presentation of the salad that came served in a wooden bowl. Pickled beets, roasted shallots, micro greens and basil compliment each other perfectly and set the state for a FEAST of organic pizza to follow.
Next, the pizza. I mean, we can’t come and NOT get organic pizza in Bozeman? Here’s what we got:
- Squashage – Sweet roasted caramelized squash with local meat, roasted beets, fresh chèvre and basil. This if perfect for a carnivore or a vegetarian (just leave off the meat). It’s a perfect blend of fresh garden and savory flavor.
- The Hobbit – Are you a cheese or garlic lover? Meet your match, this savory pizza features truffle oil, mozzarella and mushrooms. It’s subtle, powerful and satiating all at the same time.
- Hot Hawaiian – Alright Hawaii lovers, this one’s for you. My husbands a sucker for anything Hawaii so, you better believe he got this one. Think spicy, sweet and smokey all at once, hitting your tastebuds and making you leap for joy. It happened..
Wait, leave room for dessert (duh)
If you’re anything like me, you’re a dessert lover/connoisseur. You know good ice cream (dairy-free or not). Crispy and gooey are both requirements for brownies and they better be warm but you already know these things. If you say gluten-free cookie, it means crunchy, soft, chocolatey goodness without ANY hints of cardboard. I’m talking, none. Well, that’s just what you’re going to get here. A sweet mixture of perfection and flavor.
The gluten-free brownie with caramel sauce reminds me of my childhood when I ate boxed brownies. You would never know this is gluten-free so, don’t tell your gluten-free hater friend, just order it and indulge. It’s served with a scoop of creamy vanilla bean ice cream from a local dairy. We subbed for coconut ice cream and now I’m drooling as I write this.
Of course, We also got the gluten-free ice cream sandwich. A combination of 2 semi soft chocolate chip cookies with a FAT scoop of vanilla bean or coconut ice-cream in between. Don’t even try to be cute, you’re about to get messy with this one. Like, how do you fit that in your mouth?!
