Portland Maine Gluten Free Restaurants

1 – Vinland

The first spot we visited in was Vinland. A delicious and elegant/casual spot located right in historic downtown Portland. They are the first restaurant in the United States to serve 100% local, organic food. Plus, they cater to gluten-free, keto, paleo diets for those looking to avoid inflammatory foods! 2 – Flatbread Company

Next, we visited this amazing waterfront property with a dog-friendly patio. From the flatbreads to the drinks to the desserts, you cannot go wrong! They serve paleo, keto, vegan and many other dietary choices. If you’re looking for dang good gluten-free pizza and salads with a beer (yes, ask for the gluten-free one) Flatbread Company is your best bet!

Here’s their address: 72 Commercial St.

3 – Bam Bam Bakery

While I don’t have a full write up on Bam Bam Bakery, I did spend close to $50 here sooo.. it had to be good, right? They are a dedicated gluten-free facility so, celiac friends, rejoice! Here’s what we got and what I highly recommend you try out of all the Portland Maine gluten free finds:

  • Snickers Bar
  • Chocolate Crinkle Cookies
  • Lemon Poppyseed Muffin (get the day-olds and save a little cashola!)
  • Brownie
  • Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge
  • Whoopie Pies

They’re located at 267 Commercial Street in right outside of downtown Portland. There’s plenty of parking of you can park a little ways away and enjoy the walk by the water!

4 – Holy Donut

Holy Donut is one of the most popular spots in Portland and I quickly learned why. Even though they do make products with gluten, they do a great job at keeping the gluten and gluten-free separated in difference cases. These delicious local potato donuts are out of this world and you have endless choices to satisfy your flavor palette.

I went with the gluten-free Chocolate Sea Salt and the Lavender. Get there as early as you can in the morning because they will sell out or at least have very limited flavors after noon! Lucky for you, they have three locations for you to choose from: 7 Exchange St, Portland (the one we went to) , 194 Park Avenue, Portland, and 398 Route 1 Scarborough.

5 – LB Kitchen

This delicious breakfast or brunch spot is not one to be missed. I ordered the Turmeric Pancakes with grass-fed butter and a side of local bacon. They serve it with local maple syrup and DANG was it good. Tommy got the house panini with avocado, tomato, greens and gluten-free bread. Whether you want a medicinal latte or a burger, this Portland Maine gluten free cafe its the spot.

They have the cutest space in the back for you to sit outside under colorful umbrellas and enjoy beautiful local art! Whatever you do, make sure you stop at 249 Congress St.

Wherever your feet (or car) take you make sure you stop in at as many of these spots as possible. It’s the best way to support your tastebuds and local businesses! I hope you enjoyed my guide to the best Portland Maine gluten free finds!! Do you have a recommendation or have you been to any of these? Tell me below in the comments!
